Walt Disney World Stroller Rental: Why I Recommend Kingdom Strollers
By 3:00 pm, it usually happens. You’ve crossed the park twice. You’ve stood in line for Pirates. You’re heading toward Space Mountain, and suddenly the tiny human who insisted they were “too big for a stroller” that morning is…done.
Tired legs, hot pavement and maybe even a few tears.
At Walt Disney World Resort, even adults feel the mileage. Most families walk fifteen to twenty thousand steps per day, sometimes more. A stroller at Walt Disney World isn’t about the age of the guest. It’s about stamina, and the right stroller can be a complete game changer during your vacation.

Should You Rent a Stroller at Walt Disney World?
Yes, in most cases, I recommend it, even for children who haven’t used one at home in years.
The parks are so large, and the use of the Disney transportation system requires walking, too. Even quick-service meals involve navigating crowds and distance. Add the Florida heat, late parades, fireworks and energy drains quickly.
A stroller then becomes:
- A place to rest
- A place to take a nap
- A portable locker
- A saver of parental sanity
I’ve personally seen children asleep on concrete curbs while waiting for parades. I’ve seen exhausted parents holding sleeping kids in long transportation lines at 10:45 pm. Everyone is ready to drop. A reclining stroller is more comfortable for everyone.
Bringing a Stroller from Home: Is it Worth it?
Many families assume they’ll just bring their own stroller on vacation. However, consider how it will feel to navigate airport security, customs and boarding with your stroller. It will need to be gate-checked before you step aboard the aircraft, which means you’ll have to wait for it on the jet bridge at the end of your flight. By the time you reach your resort, you’ve already managed the stroller several times.
For many families, renting at Walt Disney World eliminates that stress entirely. Your stroller is waiting for you, clean, labelled and ready to go.

Disney Stroller Rental vs. Outside Company
Many families have asked me over the years whether it’s better to rent a stroller from Disney or from an outside company. Here’s an honest comparison of these two options.
| Disney Park Rental | Kingdom Strollers |
| Must stay inside the park | Use everywhere as if it was your own at parks, resorts and Disney Springs |
| Hard plastic seat | Padded, reclining seat |
| No option for airport pick-up or use | Airport pick-up available |
| Must return daily, wait in line for pick-up and drop-off, availability permitting | Keep for your entire trip, no lining up for pick-up or drop-off in the parks |
| No late-night flexibility, not ideal for sleeping | Walk your child back to the resort asleep (depending on your resort location) |
Disney’s strollers are cute and convenient if you only need something short-term. However, if you want flexibility, comfort and fewer logistical headaches, an outside rental is usually the better choice.

Why I Recommend Kingdom Strollers
My preferred stroller rental company in Orlando is Kingdom Strollers. I recommend them to my clients because they consistently deliver clean, comfortable equipment and understand Disney logistics inside and out.
(Disclosure: I may receive a small referral commission if you book through my link. I only recommend suppliers I confidently suggest to my own clients.)
Here’s why my clients appreciate them.
Comfort That Actually Matters
Their City Mini, Mini GT, Summit and Bob models fully recline for naps, have padded seating and include drink holders for parents to use. Optional child trays are also offered. When the fireworks finish and you look down to find your child fast asleep, you’ll be greatful for the recline.
Cleanliness Standards
Between rentals, seat fabric is removed and laundered, frames and wheels are disinfected and accessories are cleaned and sanitized. For families travelling with young children, this attention to detail is reassuring.
Flexible Delivery Options
Orlando International Airport (MCO): Pick-up and return at Terminal A near Wrap ‘N Fly. If your flight is delayed, your stroller remains accessible at the kiosk.
Disney-Owned Resorts: When your stroller is delivered to your Walt Disney World Resort hotel, guests must appear for face-to-face delivery. You’ll schedule a meet time for drop-off and pickup.
Other Hotels & Vacation Homes: Delivery is typically made to Bell Services. You do not need to be present.

Practical Tips for Using a Stroller at Disney
Here are a few helpful tips I’ve cultivated from years of watching families navigate the hotels and theme parks.
- Fold strollers before boarding Disney buses.
- You don’t need to fold strollers when riding the Disney Skyliner.
- Wagons aren’t permitted at Walt Disney World Resort theme parks unless they’re approved for medical reasons.
- Always park your stroller in designated stroller parking areas.
- Keep valuables with you.

And one important tip:
Do not leave open food in your stroller.
Birds in the parks are fearless. If you leave popcorn or Goldfish crackers unattneded, you may return to a feathery clean-up crew.
I also suggest adding a ribbon or something decorative to your stroller so it’s easy to spot among the many others in stroller parking. I’ve seen families use battery-powered twinkle lights in the evening, and it looks magical rolling down Main Street after dark.
Cast Members frequently reorganize stroller areas to maintain walkways, so don’t panic if yours isn’t exactly where you left it.
“But My Child Doesn’t Use a Stroller at Home”
This is the most common hesitation I hear from parents. Here’s the difference: at home, your child isn’t walking several kilometres in a day for several days in a row. They aren’t navigating crowds or standing in queues. Walt Disney World can be an experience in endurance.
Even confident walkers benefit from having a home base on wheels. And when a child can rest instead of melting down, the entire family benefits.
When You Might Not Need a Stroller
To be fully transparent, a stroller rental isn’t essential for every family. You may not need one if your children are older teens, you plan midday resort breaks daily or your trip is very short. Similarly, if your theme park touring style is slow and limited, a stroller might be unnecessary. For most families with kids under 8 or 9 years old, a stroller significantly improves comfort.
Booking Your Walt Disney World Stroller Rental
A stroller rental at Walt Disney World is not about convenience, it’s about protecting your energy. When little legs are rested, parents are more calm. When parents are calm, the day flows better. And when the day flows better, the magic feels easier.
