Room Size & Features

The rooms at moderate resorts at Walt Disney World are more spacious than those within the value resort category. For example, a Standard Room at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is larger than a Standard Room at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort.

At Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, some rooms will accommodate families of five, while Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort provides the option for spacious suites.

The rooms at moderate resorts have no private outdoor space, opening directly to an outdoor, public walkway. All have windows. Most beds are queen-sized, with the child-size pull-down sleeper in some room categories. Pirate-themed and princess-themed rooms are available at moderate resorts.

A small refrigerator can be found in every Walt Disney World Resort hotel room.

Bathrooms are always split for the best use of family space and time, with plenty of storage.

Within the moderate resort properties, Club Level is an option only in the Gran Destino tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort.

With Club Level, guests can expect the following amenities:

  • Evening turndown service
  • Secured key access to the club-level lounge, with refreshments served from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm daily
  • Complimentary fax assistance
  • Access to concierge service at the Chronos Club
  • Complimentary health club access
  • Complimentary newspapers in the Club Level lounge

Overall Theming

Moderate resorts at Walt Disney World have lovely theming that is more subtle than that found at the value resorts. The themes at these resorts have less to do with Disney characters and more to do with a geographical location or decor style.

At Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, the theme has Spanish, Mexican and Southwest American vibes, while Disney’s Port Orleans Resort features the bayou, Cajun culture and Southern mansions of Louisiana. Disney characters are woven into the decor at these properties, but in a softer way.

Proximity to Theme Parks

Moderate resorts are more centrally located at Walt Disney World Resort, making travel to the theme parks more convenient than you may find it to be at a value resort.

Transportation Options

Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort offers transportation to all Disney theme parks and Disney Springs by shuttle bus only.

To get from Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort to the theme parks, you’ll use either Disney Skyliner for Disney’s Hollywood Studios or EPCOT, and a Disney shuttle bus to Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Guests of Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter or Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside will use Disney shuttle buses to get to the theme parks, but they can get to Disney Springs by water taxi.

Dining

The moderate resorts at Walt Disney World include both quick service and table service dining options. Character dining experiences do not take place at these properties. Guests may travel to other resorts, theme parks or Disney Springs for table service or character dining, where available.
