Disney MagicMobile Service Debuts Soon

Disney MagicMobile service will soon be introduced for guests visiting Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

Now that complimentary MagicBands are being phased out, Disney has announced a new way for guests to manage the features traditionally linked to MagicBands with its new Disney MagicMobile service.

What do we know about Disney MagicMobile Service so far?

  • Disney MagicMobile service will launch in phases later this year.
  • This is a contactless service that will allow guests to use their My Disney Experience app in conjunction with the features of their Apple Watch, iPhone or other smart device.
  • Disney MagicMobile service will launch on Apple devices first.
  • Theme park entry is just one way guests will use Disney MagicMobile. Instead of holding up your MagicBand at theme park entry points, guests will use their smart phone to enter Walt Disney World theme parks.
  • The My Disney Experience app will allow guests to create a digital ticket they can access through their smart phone’s wallet feature.
  • Guests will be able to use either a MagicBand or Disney MagicMobile, or both interchangeably.
  • The digital room key feature on the My Disney Experience app will continue to be available so that guests can check into their Walt Disney World Resort hotel online and use their phone to unlock their hotel room door.
  • A hard copy Key to the World card will be provided to guests upon request at the front desk.
Key to the World Card
A Key to the World card will be provided to guests who prefer not to use a MagicBand or Disney MobileMagic.

When a guest’s Walt Disney World Resort vacation package is linked to their My Disney Experience account, one of the options available is to pre-order MagicBands. Here is the message guests will find, as of March 12, 2021:

Please note: Starting in 2021, we plan to unveil an innovative new offering as part of the My Disney Experience app that will bring features of a MagicBand to your smart devices. Guests staying at Disney Resort hotels with an arrival date through December 31, 2020 will continue to receive complimentary MagicBands. With the new My Disney Experience offering, MagicBands will no longer be provided on a complimentary basis with new reservations for Disney Resort hotel Guests with arrivals beginning January 1, 2021 and beyond.

MagicBands start at $5.00 USD for a plain, coloured band.

At Pure Magic Vacations, we’re embracing this new service and will be learning more about how to use Disney MobileMagic as it’s launched this year!
