Halfway to the Holidays! Disney Reveals Festive Surprises for 2024

With the “Halfway to the Holidays” announcements, we get an early look at what to expect for Christmas at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort in 2024. Let’s dive into the festive details and start planning your magical holiday getaways. The magic of the holiday season is just around the corner, and Disney Parks are gearing up to make it unforgettable!

Halfway to the Holidays Reveals Special Holiday Events

Walt Disney World Resort never fails to enchant during the holiday season. This year, we can look forward to the return of beloved events such as:

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party

  • Select nights November 8 through December 20, 2024, 7:00 pm to midnight
  • Tickets available for Disney Resort guests starting July 2, 2024.
  • Tickets for all other guests available July 10, 2024.
  • Event dates: November 8, 11, 12, 14, 15, 17, 19, 21, 22, 24, 26, 27, 29 and December 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 20, 2024

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party returns to Magic Kingdom Park in 2024.

Disney Jollywood Nights

  • Select nights November 9 through December 21, 2024, 7:30 pm to 12:30 am
  • Featuring a new skating spectacular set to favourite holiday tunes!
  • Over 20 unique character experiences, including Phineas and Ferb, Santa Duffy and Santa Stitch and new appearances from Bo Peep, Lotso, Bloo and King Louie.
  • Disney PhotoPass digital downloads will be included in your ticket.
  • Return of the iconic Gertie cookie.
  • Reservations recommended for the Jazzy Holidays at Hollywood Brown Derby.
  • Tickets available for Disney Resort guests starting July 2, 2024.
  • Tickets for all other guests available July 10, 2024.
  • Event dates: November 9, 13, 16, 18, 23, 25, 30 and December 2, 7, 11, 14, 18, 21, 2024.

EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays Presented by AdventHealth

  • November 11 through December 30, 2024.
  • Holiday kitchens throughout the park, with delicious treats from around the world.
  • Candlelight Processional with celebrity narrators, orchestra and choir.

The Candlelight Processional will return to the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays Presented by AdventHealth.

At Disneyland Resort, the holiday season begins November 15, 2024, with the Disney Festival of Holidays at Disney California Adventure, featuring:

  • holiday overlays on attractions
  • seasonal spectaculars
  • wintery décor throughout the resort
  • new wintertime attire for Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse

These events promise an extra dose of holiday cheer with exclusive entertainment, parades, and character meet-and-greets.

Festive Decorations

One of the highlights of visiting Disney Parks during the holidays is the stunning transformation of the parks with holiday decorations. Expect twinkling lights, giant Christmas trees, and festive overlays on popular attractions. Main Street, U.S.A., Cinderella Castle and Sleeping Beauty Castle are sure to be showstoppers.

The yuletide projection show will return to the Hollywood Tower Hotel at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, along with the Merry Menagerie of winter animal puppets at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Buzz, Woody and Jessie will all appear in their festive outfits in Toy Story Land.

Over at Magic Kingdom, the “Frozen Holiday Surprise” will return to Cinderella Castle, featuring Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Kristoff and the Snowgies.

Disney Resort hotels will also be decorated with Christmas trees and other beautifully festive details.

Holiday-Themed Attractions

Disney Parks are known for adding holiday magic to their attractions. This year, look out for the holiday overlays on “It’s a Small World” at Disneyland Park, “Haunted Mansion Holiday” at Disneyland Park, and “Jingle Cruise” at both Disneyland Park and Walt Disney World Resort. These seasonal touches add an extra layer of fun to your favourite rides.
