Stroller Size Allowed at Disney Theme Parks: Smaller is Better
There has been a change to the stroller size allowed at Disney theme parks. I’m constantly amazed at the number of strollers that are present at Walt Disney World theme parks when we visit, and thank my lucky stars I have not been a guest requiring a stroller at Magic Kingdom.
Don’t get me wrong, many families absolutely require the use of a stroller to get those tired kiddos around the massive parks, especially when they’re tired out and just need a snooze. A stroller is also handy for helping families carry all of the items necessary for young children to have a fun a successful visit.
However, in recent years there has been an influx of very large strollers and wagons, making it difficult for some guests to get around.
Back on May 1, 2019, Disney adjusted its guidelines on the stroller size allowed at Walt Disney World theme parks. As of that date, strollers must be no larger than 31″ wide and 52″ long. Many of the strollers on the market, including many double jogging strollers will still fit within these size guidelines.
In addition, wagons and stroller wagons are not permitted in the parks. (Confession: I had to Google “stroller wagon” to even figure out what these are…wow.)
Why the Policy on Stroller Size Allowed at Disney?
The Disney theme parks are BUSY places, with thousands of people visiting daily. The policy is designed to help guest flow and ease congestion.
My Tips for Stroller Use at Disney Theme Parks
- The smaller your stroller, the easier it is going to be to navigate around the parks. Instead of trying to get the biggest stroller you can inside the parks, I highly recommend you adopt the philosophy that “smaller is better”. You can bring your own stroller, or you can rent a single or double stroller for the day upon arrival at the parks. You can also rent a stroller for the entire length of your stay.
- I highly recommend a stroller rental from my preferred supplier, Kingdom Strollers, which has assured me of their compliance with these new policies. If you’re one of my clients, I’ll arrange this on your behalf.
- Don’t forget to bring a brightly coloured ribbon, sticker or other means of differentiating your stroller from others in the theme parks. Without a personalized marking, it can be difficult to located your stroller if you park it among the others while you ride an attraction!
Additional Comments about Stroller Size Allowed at Disney Properties:
