Jurassic World VelociCoaster Features
The Jurassic World VelociCoaster is coming to Universal Orlando Resort in the summer of 2021. This new roller coaster will be Florida’s fastest launch coaster. Located inside the Islands of Adventure theme park, the VelociCoaster will be the fourth Jurassic Park-themed attraction at Universal Studios, behind Pteranodon Flyers, Jurassic Park River Adventure and Raptor Encounter. All three of the previous attractions are pretty tame compared to the VelociCoaster! Just reading about the new ride’s stats is enough to make my palms sweat. From the sounds of things, this attraction will be very popular with roller coaster fans and thrill seekers.
Ride Concept
Feel the rush of the hung as you race through the jungle alongside Velociraptors. It’s the Jurassic World VelociCoaster, the apex predator for coasters, only at Universal Orlando Resort.
Jurassic World VelociCoaster Features
Two Launches
This experience will include two launches:
- 0 to 50 mph in 3 seconds
- 40 to 70 mph in 2.4 seconds
Inversions
The VelociCoaster ride will have four inversions and an inverted stall! I wonder if riders will be dangled above the velociraptor paddock during the stall?
Intense Drop
The apex of the coaster track is 155 feet in the air, above the lagoon. The ride vehicles will plunge 80 degrees, the steepest coaster drop at Universal Orlando theme park. This drop is clearly visible in the ride trailer, which I’ve included, below.
Ride Vehicles
With InGen logos, headrest lighting and a sleek design, the ride vehicles for the VelociCoaster are reminiscent of any jeep you’ve seen racing through the jungles of Isla Nublar. The neon blue headlights really complete the Jurassic World theming.
