Wearing a Mask at Walt Disney World
Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme parks were open yesterday for cast member previews. This means that the parks were open for some cast members before opening to the general public. In addition to social distancing and enhanced cleaning measures, wearing a mask at Walt Disney World is now mandatory.
Although I will not likely have the pleasure of visiting Walt Disney World in person until next year, I’ve enjoyed following some of my favourite Instagram and YouTube accounts throughout the pandemic and during yesterday’s cast member preview. I’m happy and relieved to see that mask-wearing is being taken seriously at Walt Disney World.
I’ve learned a few important facts about the new policies at Walt Disney World. As guests consider returning to “the most magical place on earth,” they should keep these points in mind.
- All guests over the age of two must wear a face mask at Disney theme parks, resorts, and at Disney Springs.
- Guests must wear masks while a cast member takes their photograph for Disney PhotoPass.
- There is a “rest station” located at Tomorrowland Terrace in the Magic Kingdom for guests who wish to remove their mask temporarily.
- Cast members are enforcing the policy of wearing a mask at Walt Disney World.
- Guests may remove their masks while consuming food and drink. Guests may not wander the theme park in order to do so.
Geoffrey, a wonderful Disney Instagrammer, put together an excellent guide, “5 Tips on How to Wear a Mask at Disney World.” I highly recommend checking out his guide!
