Wine Experiences at Walt Disney World Resort

I enjoy wine. My friends, family members and colleagues all know that one of the things I enjoy doing in Orlando is tasting wine. Therefore, it should come as no surprise for readers of this blog that Walt Disney World Resort isn’t just about thrilling rides and magical parades. For wine enthusiasts like me, there are several memorable wine-related experiences scattered across the resort. Whether you’re a seasoned sommelier, or a casual wine drinker, I think these four wine experiences will add a sophisticated twist to your Disney adventure.

An Elegant Evening at Wine Bar George at Disney Springs

Step into Wine Bar George, a haven for wine lovers nestled in the vibrant Disney Springs. Master Sommelier George Miliotes has curated an impressive selection of wines, paired seamlessly with a menu that’s designed to complement each varietal.

I’ve been to Wine Bar George a few times, and the atmosphere at the restaurant is inviting, with a rustic charm that feels both upscale and relaxed. (Don’t be surprised to find families with young children dining here.) Opt for the Wine Country Brunch on weekends, or enjoy a tasty dinner any day of the week. The menu includes seasonal dishes, which means you can visit several times of year and have a different menu experience each time. For example, on my first visit, the Seasonal Salad featured crisp greens with fresh peaches, but on my second visit, it was a watermelon and mint salad.

The wine list features over 140 selections, served by the ounce, glass or bottle, ensuring a personalized experince perfect for those looking to savour exceptional wines with globally-inspired dishes.

My recommendation is to try the aforementioned seasonal salad paired with Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand. The charcuterie is also delicious. Invite your server to make a recommendation in order to make this one of the best wine experiences at Walt Disney World Resort.

A Scenic Wine Flight at Sanna at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village

Located at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village, Sanaa offers a unique dining experience that combines African cuisine with Indian flavours, all while overlooking the beautiful savanna. I always want to visit Sanaa, not just for the food, but for the wine, too.

The lounge at Sanna is warm and inviting.

The wine flight here is specially tailored to enhance the exotic spices and bold flavours on the menu. Enjoy a leisurely meal while giraffes roam outside the windows. Carefully chosen South African wines not only complement the menu, but also highlight the region’s rich wine-making heritage, making this experience both educational and enjoyable. For those accustomed to North American or New Zealand wines, the flavours of the South African offerings may surprise you as much as it did me.

Toasting with Champagne in the France Pavilion at EPCOT

Portons un toast! Let’s have a toast at the France Pavilion at EPCOT.

No visit to EPCOT is complete without stopping by the France Pavilion, especially for those who appreciate fine Champagne. Step into Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar to indulge in a glass of bubbly. If you’re lucky, a new bottle will be uncorked just for you. (On my last visit, I got to keep the cork.) Next, head outside to enjoy views of a miniature Eiffel Tower to complete the experience.

The wine selection in the France Pavilion includes renowned labels that embody the elegance and refinement of French viticulture. It’s the perfect spot for a romantic toast or a celebratory drink, ecapsulating the charm of France in the heart of Walt Disney World Resort.

Wine Pairing Experience at EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival

For those visiting Walt Disney World Resort during the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, the wine pairing experiences are a must-do. This annual event features an array of special tastings, seminars and gourmet offerings that highlight global cuisines and cultures.

The wine pairing sessions, conducted by industry experts, offer an in-depth look at how different wines can enhance various dishes. This interactive experience is both educational and flavourful, providing guests with insights into the art of wine pairing in a lively festival atmosphere.

Exploring Walt Disney World Resort’s wine offerings provides a sophisticated layer to the theme park experience. Each of these wine-centric activities offers a unique way to enjoy world-class wines while soaking in the Disney magic. Whether you’re planning a special date, a family-friendly dinner gathering or a solo adventure, these wine experiences promise to enhance your visit.
