Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort: Highlights of My Family’s Stay

After our stay at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, we extended our time at Walt Disney World Resort by one extra night when we checked in as guests of Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

Because we headed from one resort directly to another, we didn’t expect our room to be ready early. I used the online check-in tool in My Disney Experience to communicate to the resort that we would be arriving around noon, and it worked well because our room was ready early.

I’ve spent plenty of time at this property in the past, since it’s one of my favourite places to eat and shop near Magic Kingdom. This was my first personal stay at either of Bay Lake Tower or the main tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, though, and I have to admit that I’m now hooked, and will definitely bring my family back to this property again in the future.

What did we like best about staying at Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort?

The View

Although we booked a Standard View, our room had a lovely view of the resort grounds and the water surrounding the resort. Our room did not have a theme park view.

In this photo, you can see my husband Graham leaning on our balcony, looking out at the water.

The Layout of the Room

Many of the deluxe studios at Walt Disney World have a kitchenette that faces into the main room itself. But the kitchenette in this studio was a galley-style, tucking it away from the main traffic of the room.

There was also a lot of storage in the room, so it was easy to keep ourselves organized.

Some families love split bathrooms at Walt Disney World, but the bathroom in this room category is traditional, with one door, one tub with shower and one sink. This works just fine for our smaller family of three.

In this brief video, you’ll take a tour of our room, and see the lovely view of the grounds, water and main tower from the balcony.

Proximity to Magic Kingdom

This was our last night on vacation, and although the boys had experienced enough theme park time, I loved being able to walk to Magic Kingdom for one more evening of magic before driving home to Ontario, Canada the next day. They stayed back and played basketball on the court beside Bay Lake Tower.

All ready for one last night of Magic Kingdom solo fun!

There is a walkway that leads directly from this property over to Magic Kingdom, which is such a great benefit of staying at this resort. For guests who are too tired to walk back after a long day of theme park fun, the monorail also runs from Magic Kingdom to the main tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

Walking to Magic Kingdom means I don’t have to wait for a monorail!

Anything Less Than Magical?

Not for this stay. We loved every minute of our brief time at this property and can’t wait to come back again.
